Àban - Adventure Learning Community
We run Scotland's only independent DofE Open Award group, an outdoor club for Young Carers and an innovative Adventurous Learning programme in local schools.
We're a registered Scottish charity and a thriving social enterprise. We help get you out on positive adventures right here in your own community. When you book an activity with us, every penny raised goes to support our charitable work in Inverness.

Appointment of Trustees
We are delighted to announce the following appointments to our Board of Trustees:

2023 Holiday Camps now live
Holiday camps are back again for 2023! We kick off with both weeks of the Easter school holidays. Come and join us at Culduthel Woods for days packed full of outdoor activity and learning. For children aged 5 upwards and with 15 spaces available each day, you best be quick and book your spot.

Duke of Edinburgh's Award
We run Scotland's only independent Open Award Group. Every year we bring together 20 young people from all over Inverness & surrounding areas. How do we do it? It's all down to our fabulous volunteers who give up so much of their free time to support the group, coupled with our Ten Principles.

Outdoor Gear Library
Want to get outdoors but put off by all that pricey kit? We operate a free of charge Outdoor Gear Library. We have a huge selection of gear and clothing, mainly tilted towards walking & camping. Give us a call to arrange collection from our store in Merkinch.

Duke of Edinburgh's Award Practice ExpeditionsIt's a wrap for 2022!
Phew! That's our expedition season over for 2022. This year we've put on a total of 4 practice expeditions and 2 qualifying expeditions, ranging from Attadale in the Northwest all the way to Linn of Dee on Deeside.

Àban is a Living Wage Employer
The Living Wage commitment will see everyone working at Àban receive a minimum hourly wage of £10.90 per hour. This Living Wage rate was announced on Thursday 22nd September 2022. This rate is significantly higher than the government minimum for over 23s, which currently stands at £9.50 per hour (from 1 April 2022).

Old traditions, new beginnings
Our Duke of Edinburgh's Award group is now underway, meeting once a month at the Cameron Youth Centre.
