We provide healthy affordable outdoor afterschool clubs. We have subsidised places available for families in need. We pick up directly from class and then go straight into some fantastic outdoor activities until 5.00pm pickup, including healthy homemade outdoor snacks. This is a simple and affordable way to get your son or daughter outdoors.
Supported by the Communities Mental Health & Wellbeing Fund, we will soon be running a Saturday morning outdoor social group for young adult carers. It will run every single week with no booking required. We're proud to work in association with Highland charity Connecting Young Carers.
Outdoor education in schools should be accessible for all children. We work with schools to plan fully-funded projects so we don't depend on parents digging deep or Headteachers raiding precious school funds. This takes a lot of patience and planning but it's worth it in the end. Àban is fully licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority and is on Highland Council's Approved Activity Provider list. Our focus is on local, affordable outdoor experiences with direct learning transfer into young people's daily lives.
Àban offers a fantastic range of holiday experiences for your children, supported by our Scholarships to make the camps accessible to those in most need. You'll do 3 day trips Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday before heading off for an overnight experience Thursday & Friday. We offer breakfast, lunch & early dinner, and run from 8am to 5:30pm.
We run the most affordable DofE training programme in Scotland. How do we do it? It's all down to our fabulous volunteers who give up so much of their free time to support the Open Award group, coupled with our Ten Principles. We don't use pricey minibuses, instead using public transport to reach the amazing expedition areas on our doorstep.
