Kendal Mountain Tour at Eden Court
We had a bit of fun at the weekend appearing as part of the Kendal Mountain Tour at Eden Court. They were inviting community activitists to join them on each leg of their UK-wide tour, and we were the lucky ones chosen for Inverness.
Elanna Goldie spoke about her experience of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award programme. She highlighted how much autonomy the participants have when planning their own expeditions, and the excitement of going independently by train instead of minibus. Johannes Petersen chatted about the origins of the project, and our plans for the future. Lynsey Macdonald looked back on our 'Adventure Nurture' programme at Inverness High School (now fully funded until June 2023), and Kate O'Brien recalled the amazing experiences enjoyed back in October 2022 by our first ever teenage girls bikepacking camp. That is a project we're needing inspiration for: we're not totally sure how best to take it forward, so if you have any great ideas about that, please get in touch.
Thanks to Kendal Mountain Film Festival for inviting us along, we had a blast. And Kate won a pair of unicorn socks in the raffle, so it really was a good night!
