Highland Rock Trips

New for 2023, our Highland Rock Climbing Trips. Spring weather, no midges, no fixed plans - A Highland road trip adventure like no other. Small groups, expert local climbing instructors, and a warm and friendly buzz.
Spring time in the Scottish Highlands is one of the best times of year, and is also a perfect time and place to learn about rock climbing. There is a rich history of traditionally protected climbing in Scotland, pioneers have pushed the technical standards over the years as well as innovating some of the techniques now used around the world on the most demanding climbs.
We are extremely excited to offer a unique 5 day course which captures all this, into one unforgettable Highland Rock Trip.
Whether you choose week one or week two, you will begin the week by meeting in Inverness on Sunday evening at 5pm. We will meet at the Inverness Youth Hostel where we will get to know the rest of the group, enjoy a homemade dinner, and plan out the week ahead. What gives this trip a unique feel is the lack of fixed plans, where our climbing locations can change depending on weather. We start off with 2 days at 1:4 ratio with Course Director Robin Thomas in charge. This will most likely be two days local to Inverness focussed on single pitch crags. For the last three days of the course you'll be joined by a second instructor. This 1:2 ratio means we can aim for multi-pitch adventures, be that on the sea cliffs, or more remote mountain crags. We have our own vehicle for the week, all the kit and in-depth local knowledge gained from decades of climbing all over our patch of the Highlands. You just need to be up for an adventure.
