Gold DofE Places for 2023/2024 Programme

Posted: Wed 16 Aug 2023

Are you over 16? Are you feeling the need for new friends & fresh challenges? Maybe you're feeling a bit stuck at school, or you've just left school and are trying to find your feet. Come along and meet our friendly crew of staff & volunteers for a year which could change your life!

You don't need any experience, and we'll support you through all the sections of the Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award. Starting in August, we meet once a month at the Cameron Youth Centre in Inverness. You'll go on a practice expedition in October, then another one next June / July 2024. Best of all you'll meet in a group of up to 20 other young people who you probably won't know at the start - but you'll be firm friends by the end. We have had participants from Dornoch, Fortrose, Dingwall and all over Inverness - all are welcome!

The fees for this year are £460, which is paid in 2 instalments. This covers DofE registration, 10 x evening sessions, 2 x expeditions incl. all equipment. Each year we offer 10 x Silverhill Scholarships which are a grant for the whole cost of the year. If you'd like to apply for financial support from a Silverhill Scholarship, you just need to provide a letter of support from an independent person, e.g a Guidance teacher, youth worker, or employer.

If you have any questions at all please do call us in the office on 01463 718989 or email
