2023 Kessock Ferry Swim Community Partner
The 2022 Kessock Ferry Swim raised £4,200 for Friends of Merkinch Local Nature Reserve. This year, we build on that momentum with a new Community Partner. We are delighted to announce that Àban is joining forces with Clachnacuddin F.C. for the 2023 Kessock Ferry Swim.
The Kessock Ferry Swim is not only a fantastic event to take part in, it also aims to maximise the benefit of our event to the local community in Merkinch & South Kessock.
"Clachnacuddin F.C. is a semi-professional football club which competes in the Scottish Highland Football League. The club, which is run by it's volunteers, was formed in Merkinch in 1885 to provide a community based football team for the local area and as a founder member of the Highland League, the club has been located at Grant Street Park up until present day." Alex Chisholm
The club continues to provide opportunities for young, local players to participate and progress to the senior game. Aside from the original team, the current pathway consists of a Reserve squad of U20 players, a Youth Development section which includes primary 5 up to U18 level, as well as a Women's Squad. There are over 200 players and over 30 coaches registered with the club.
With strong links to the Merkinch and South Kessock communities, and match day volunteers residing in the local area, the club helps provide a positive focus and something to be proud of. Clacnacuddin F.C. Website.
