General information

Black Cuillin

Cuillin Traverse. If you have a strong base of fitness and plenty of scrambling experience, why not consider the UK's ultimate mountaineering objective, a continuous traverse of the Black Cuillin? We provide a fantastic all-inclusive rate with detailed planning, bivouac equipment & food, and the services of our most experienced guides. Success is really only possible in settled dry conditions, which affects the way that we take these bookings. The minimum duration is a 3-day course. This reflects the long days you are likely to encounter, with late starts and early finishes. It also allows for a warm-up day which may include cacheing water along the route.

* If no traverse is possible, we will offer suitable alternatives such as shorter scrambling days or coastal rock climbing. We can never guarantee any mountaineering objective, but we can guarantee that our guides and booking office will use their decades of experience to give you an amazing week of adventure.

Sea cliff climbing

Guided scrambling and multi-pitch adventure climbing we charge £300 for 1 person or £330 for 2 people. Maximum group size is 2.

Flexible rest day / weather day. For an additional £100 you can book a flexible, unguided rest day on top of your guided day/s. This will increase your chances of achieving your objective, as you can use the best weather day available. You can make the decision at the last minute together with your guide as to which day you go on the hill. If you decide at the last minute that you wish to also climb on your flexible rest day you can pay the balance on the day.

Rock climbing at our fantastic local crags (e.g Duntelchaig, Cummingston, Kingussie, Huntly’s Cave or Moy) we charge a flat rate of £300. Maximum group size for technical rock climbing tuition (e.g Learn to Lead or Intro to Outdoor Sport Climbing) is 2. Maximum group size for a general introduction to rock climbing (e.g a climbing birthday party) is 6.

Hillwalking (walking, not scrambling) we charge a flat rate of £280. Maximum group size is 6. We can arrange multi-day hillwalking itineraries with high-level camps or bivvis for an additional £60/night, again maximum group size is 6.

Hire of all technical equipment is always included in the price. It may be possible to lift share with our staff from Inverness to the venue but this cannot be guaranteed.

For all private bookings please contact our office on or call 01463 718989.

Indoor Climbing & Bouldering

We are very fortunate to have Inverness' brand new indoor climbing gym The Ledge just a stone's throw away. If you're looking for a general intro to indoor climbing please contact The Ledge direct. However we do run one-off sessions for youth groups by special arrangement.
