Summer Holiday Programme 2022

Posted: Mon 16 May 2022

New for Summer 2022: camps for children aged 5 all the way up to 18. Our Easter holiday camps were fully booked, and we're now delighted to launch our Summer 2022 programme. It's on for the first 3 weeks of the holidays. One week is up at Dunain Community Woodland, the other two at Culduthel Community Woods.

How do we cater to such a wide age range? We have a minimum of 3 members of staff for 15 participants, which means that we can really provide a flexible programme for a wide age range. For example, a group of older children might head off for a longer walk or a knife skills sessions whilst the younger ones play games closer to the base camp. We then bring everyone back together with the older ones using their skills to help prepare the fire and cooking afternoon snack for the group. It's this kind of "whole village" play in our beautiful community woodland venues which make these camps so special.

All proceeds from the camps go to support our charitable work. In addition to our standard sibling and multi-day discounts, we also run our Àban Funded Places programme for families who may not be able to afford holiday camps.

We're also pleased to offer a single day camp on Monday August 15th, which will be a very relaxed camp to look back on the summer and get everyone ready to go back to school the next day. FInally we have two days for the September in-service days.

We will be running camps over the October holidays as well, bookings for this will open over the course of the summer.

We're able to offer a number of free & subsidised places on these camps. If eligible, you can apply to the Highland Children's Trust for a grant which can cover up to the cost of a full week. See their website for more details.
