Unique in the Highlands - summer camps for youngsters aged 5 - 18. Our Easter holiday camps were fully booked, and we're now delighted to launch our Summer 2022 programme. It's on for the first 3 weeks of the holidays. One week is up at Dunain Community Woodland, the other two at Culduthel Community Woods.
We had a bit of fun at the weekend appearing as part of the Kendal Mountain Tour at Eden Court. They were inviting community activitists to join them on each leg of their UK-wide tour, and we were the lucky ones chosen for Inverness.
These are holidays like they used to be! Easter 2022 sold out, so please help us plan ahead for the summer. Well done to the 48 children who braved some really cold conditions. Goes to show that with a bit of warm clothing and a big wood to explore, even P1 children can stay outside for 6 hours non-stop and still be warm & happy.
This is our first year as a DofE Centre, and we're so fortunate to have come into contact with this amazing group of young people. It takes guts to step outside of your comfortable school or college social circles and commit to doing DofE Gold with people you've never met. In the photo you've got participants from four schools across Inverness & the Black Isle, with Inverness College UHI represented as well.
Here's a short collection of recent quotes from participants and parents. "The sort of thing my Dad would have done when he was a kid" really hits home - what a wonderful way to capture that magic feeling of a childhood spent freely exploring the forests close to home.
You can view our entry on the Scottish register here. This marks a new phase in our development, and we look forward to delivering for the community in Inverness as best as we can. On Monday 29th November we will welcome our new Trustee Jonathan Molloy to our next Board meeting - look out for his bio appearing here soon.
