Originally from London, I’ve been living in the Highlands for over 20 years now and I’m still loving it like it’s a holiday. I cherish the environment we live in, especially the watery bits. So much so that I studied for a PhD and worked as a hydrologist for 18 years, trying to better understand and protect our rivers and lochs, before deciding to become an open water swim coach and swimming teacher. In this way I hope to help others enjoy and respect our wonderful environment. I do love a challenge by foot, bike, in the water and also in the kitchen, where I can be found performing fermentation experiments, with varying success, on all sorts of home-grown and foraged produce.
