Morag SkeltonGear Hub Lead & Outdoor Leader
Born in Inverness and raised in Ross-shire, I spent much of my childhood exploring the Highlands by bike, on skis, and on foot. A few years ago, I moved back to Inverness, close to my childhood home — something I never thought I’d do. It was only after travelling and living far and wide that I realised just how lucky we are to live in the best part of Scotland. Now, with a little one in tow, I love taking him out to enjoy nature and showing him just how special the Scottish Highlands is.
After graduating from Dundee Art School, I followed my teenage dream of becoming a ski instructor, worked both in Scotland and internationally. I later found myself based at Glenmore Lodge, where I was introduced to the world of rock climbing and instantly became hooked. Since then, I’ve been freelancing as an outdoor instructor and mountaineering & climbing guide and love sharing my passion for the outdoors with others. I picked up a part-time role at Àban Gear Hub in 2024, and it’s been really nice to become part of the Àban core family.
I’m also fluent in British Sign Language and a strong lip reader, as I am profoundly deaf.
